Welcome to Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop for the month of June. Today, I am sharing a fun summer card. I can’t wait to be wearing flip flops everyday and spending time floating in the pool.

And that will be happening soon because this is my final year of teaching—just seven more days until retirement! It has been a wonderful and rewarding career, but I’m ready for this next chapter. I’m looking forward to having more time to spend with my family and, of course, to craft. After I return from my retirement trip to Alaska, I plan to blog much more regularly. I have so many ideas, and I can’t wait to share them with you!

I started with a Crumb Cake base and covered the front with a striped piece of Beautiful Ordinary Life DSP. I ordered this DSP to take part in the Paper Mixer Craft Class and I am so glad I did. The craft class was so fun and the paper is so versatile! If you didn’t get to participate in this craft class, you can still purchase it. See details for this class and the new Scenic Coast Craft Class below.

The float and ball stamps are two-step stamps. For the float, I used Daffodil Delight, stamping the four segments first and then stamping off with the full float stamp. I did the same for the ball using Flirty Flamingo. To make the top of the flip flops darker, I colored them with the dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend.

One of the most relaxing things that I enjoy doing is sitting at the beach reading and watching the waves roll in. I used the Rolling Waves bundle to create that feeling for the inside of the card.

I used Basic White cardstock for the top layer and Pool Party cardstock for the two bottom layers. I used the smaller stamp from Rolling Waves and stamped the bottom layer with Azure Afternoon ink.

I created sand by splattering Crumb Cake ink using a bone folder and the dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends.

For the envelope, I stamped a beach ball on the front and added a strip of Beautiful Ordinary Life DSP to the back flap.
